Codex resets are announced by Tibo, who leads Codex at OpenAI. Historically they follow outages and usage bugs, model launches and user milestones; since mid-2026 some arrive as "banked" reset cards you redeem yourself. This site records each announcement as one event, tags its type, scope and reason, and links the original posts.

FAQ

Is a "reset" here the same as the countdown in my account?

No. Your account's 5-hour and weekly windows roll on their own. This site only records the extra, officially announced one-off clears (usage resets) and the reset cards handed out. An announcement time is not your account's recovery time.

What is the difference between a usage reset and a reset card?

A usage reset clears everyone's usage right away. A reset card (a "banked" reset) is credited to your account and only takes effect when you redeem it, so the announcement alone does not refill anything.

Where does the data come from?

Only the public posts of Tibo, who leads Codex. Fetched every few minutes, confirmed by a person before it goes in, and every record links to the original post.

How accurate is "next, estimated"?

Not very. It is the last reset plus the median of up to the last ten gaps. OpenAI has never promised a cadence.

What if a reset is missing?

Posts are collected every few minutes and confirmed by a person before publishing; a few minutes late beats mistaking a joke for an announcement. If one is missing, mention us on X.

Announcement time is not the same as your personal quota recovery time. Historical intervals are for reference only.
